Deepak Paswan was born in Bihar, India after a difficult surgery. His mother was supposed to have twins, but one of the twins was too underdeveloped to make it through the pregnancy. But the story didn’t end there. Deepak, the surviving kid, had to bear the burden of his parasitic twin.
Deepak carried his would-be twin for the first seven years of his life, with its limbs protruding from his stomach. This made him look like he had four extra limbs and he was frequently teased because of it. He was called “devil”, “freak” and the “Eight-Limbed Boy.” Deepak’s family was too poor afford surgery. But luckily, doctors at the Fortis Hospital Bangalore decided to operate on him for free in June 2010. Now life is pretty normal for the little boy. Deepak says says, “I can run faster than my two elder brothers — before I could never keep up. I really like my new body. It’s much more fun. I am very happy.”
